ACC Worship

To meet the Sacramental needs and support the prayer life of those within our Five Star Catholic Community, the goals proposed are:

 

Goal 1: Anticipating 3 priests to serve the 5 parishes of the Five Star Catholic Community, every parish will have at least one scheduled Sunday Mass and one Holy Day of Obligation Mass (either on the feast day or its vigil). Every parish shall also have at least one scheduled weekday Mass. The ACC with input from St. Joseph Grey Eagle and St. John's Swanville will address the Mass schedule in July and August and will be effective September 2020 for these two parishes.

The proposed Mass Schedule is:

Goal 1 Action Plan:

Step 1: A copy of the anticipated Mass schedule in the parish bulletins June 28, 2020.

Step 2: Pulpit announcements will be given on June 21st and June 28th explaining why the proposed Mass schedule was decided upon, how weekend collections will be affected for those attending Masses at neighboring parishes (including those within the Five Star Area Catholic Community) and what changes can be expected to the liturgical ministry schedules.

Step 3: Send a copy of this pulpit announcement to the homes of all parishioners to ensure all parish families have received the message.

 

Goal 2: To promote adoration of the Blessed Sacramet throughout our Five Star Catholic Community by strengthening support of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel located at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Long Priaire through increased participation.

Goal 2 Action Plan:

Step 1: Designate June 3, 2021 during which the celebrating priest or deacon will preach on the significance of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and its historical and Scriptural foundations.

Step 2: On Divine Mercy Sunday 2021, schedule and host a holy hour of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Long Prairie. Before and after this time of worship, parishioners may tour the adoration chapel and sign up for a designated time during the week.

Step 3: During the month of August 2021, members of hte ACC Pastoral Council, with their priests, evaluate the sucesses of the campaign.

 

Goal 3: Create and implement a program that teaches the community the meaning, sacredness and significance of the Mass. This iwll primarily be done using the video series, Engaging the Mystery: Catechesis on the Mass.

Goal 3 Action Plan:

Step 1: In consultation with the parish DRE's and the Pastoral Council of each of the parishes, three session meetings are scheduled across the Five Star Catholic Community Churches. These meetings are to be scheduled by March 1, 2021.

Step 2: The first to be scheduled shall be at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Long Prairie during Lent 2021. Second session will be hosted at St. John's, Swanville during Summer 2021. Third session will be hosted at Christ the King, Browerville during October-November 2021.

Step 3: Promote the event via social media, parish bulletin, and sign-up registration.

Step 4: Assign the scheduled sessions to be led, or co-lead, by oe of the parish priests or deacon. Ideally, all ministers will want to be involved, at some time, but at least one ordained minister must be willing to lead or co-lead these sessions. A lay person may be chosen to help lead or co-lead the event.
