Effective July 25th
We have been asked by our Bishop to observe the Governor’s mandate of wearing a face mask. People must wear a face mask upon entering the Church, during Mass and when exiting the building. The mask should be removed only for the reception of Communion.
No one should enter a church or other parish-related public space without wearing one.
Young children and people with special medical conditions are exempted. If a person is alone she/he is also exempted.
The celebrant and other ministers must wear face coverings during processions, the recessional and distribution of Holy Communion.
Our Bishop supports this requirement because it is an effective mean of protecting the health and safety of parishioners, along with hand-washing and physical distancing. It is among the simplest ways to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
These words of St Mother Theresa comes to my mind: “I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” In the name of Christian love and for the sake of peace, I will do my best and I encourage you to try your best also.

El señor Obispo nos ha pedido seguir la orden del gobernador de usar máscara en sitios públicos. Los feligreses deberán usar máscara al entrar a la Iglesia, durante la Misa y al salir de la Iglesia. Solo quitársela para recibir la Comunión. Nadie debería entrar al templo o asistir a alguna actividad eclesial en espacio público, sin la máscara.
Los niños y las personas que tengan una condicion médica especial están exentas de usar máscara. Es decir, No tienen que usarla. Si una persona está sola, tampoco tiene que usarla.
Sacerdotes y diaconos deben usarla durante la procesion de entrada y de salida, y durante la Comunion.
Nuestro Obispo apoya el uso de la máscara ya que es una manera de limitar el contagio del virus, junto al lavado de manos y el distanciamiento fisico, y asi proteger a los más vulnerables.
Me viene a la mente estas palabras de Santa Teresa de Calcuta: “Ama hasta que te duela. Si te duele es buena señal”
Por eso, te pido que por amor Cristiano y por la preservación de la paz, hagas tu parte, asi como yo trataré lo mejor de mi. Solo espero que este sacrificio colectivo dé muchos frutos. Dios te bendiga!
